Ye gods.....

I had no idea it was so long since I blogged! But then, I haven't had much to blog about! So this is really just to let everyone know I'm still on the planet. Next week I travel back to the UK for christmas and new year - from what I hear the weather is diabolical and I wish I'd kept my thermal underwear when we moved! I may not blog at all during this time as for once I'm not taking my lappy with me and will have to rely on using someone else's if time permits!

I've decided not to drive myself to the airport this time. I do get quite stressed about it, worrying whether I'll have a breakdown and miss my flight. Worked it out that having a taxi would cost me around €40 more than taking the car, it's worth it for the lack of wear and tear on my nerves!

Mark is moving house tomorrow - should have been next week but his buyer wanted it brought forward a week. It has all happened very quickly - Mark is moving into a rented house and the buyer had already sold so there was no excuse for the solicitors to drag their feet with this very short chain! At least he will have a week to get settled in before I arrive though I rather expect I will be helping him unpack boxes on and off during my 'holiday'!

Had a few outings with girl friends in the last couple of weeks, including one yesterday to the newly opened Iceland in Benissa. Stocked up on a few things but I think I'll only be going there when I want something specific or feel a desperate need for English products, as the prices are a little high (i.e something for £2.50 is €5 rather than around €3.65-ish). It was good to see familiar brands on the shelves. I am looking forward to their fresh meat department opening early next year though.

This week's Blue Skies dinner is at Las Brisas again, am so looking forward to that as 'Double Impact' will be providing the music for dancing - I love them! So I'm hoping to have a really good time, even though I am apparently driving a car full! It will be my last outing with them until January so I hope there's a good mixed group of us.

I had some sad news earlier in the week - my auntie Edie died last week, aged 103 - what a fantastic age! I doubt there is a generation which has seen so many changes in the world as hers. The funeral is being held the day I fly back so sadly I won't be able to be there but I've sent flowers from us all. She was my dad's sister and while she was alive I felt I still had a link with him. End of an era.
