The family have been ......
..... and gone and I'm just getting accustomed again to the peace and quiet. House clean, washing and ironing done. At one stage I had 24 bath and beach towels on the line - and that didn't include any of mine! How can 2 adults and 3 children get through so many?
We had a lovely week, managed to spend some days on the beach; Robyn loves the sea no matter how cold it is, Chloe likes to hunt for fish and other creatures in the rock pools, and Elli will go wherever she can escape to! She loved standing on the edge of the sea with her feet just in the water and then running away as the little waves came towards her. Sara and Mark just enjoyed chilling and lying in the sun while Grandma (me!) kept an eye on the children.
We ate out two or three evenings, just in town, and also went to Monroe's at Pedreguer so they could see where I spend my Friday evenings and meet John and June.
I had planned a barbecue for the Sunday so family and friends could meet and check each other out (!). Unfortunately I developed a cold and by the Friday felt so wretched I had no choice but to cancel. Many of my friends have had terrible colds and chest infections this year and I had no wish to start it all over again. So disappointed. We spent the day on the beach instead and I think the fresh sea air did me good.
I've been having another tidy up in the garden this morning. I've re-planted four bougainvilleas, hopefully now they'll do better than before. I've lost my purple passion flower, replaced it with one of the bougainvilleas. The neighbour's overhanging shrub has finished flowering -if his gardener doesn't turn up in the next week or two I'll have to contact him and ask for it to be cut back. Mark had to chop some of it back as it was growing right over the air con unit from my bedroom.
The weather is warming up beautifully, I'd love to spend the day in the garden but a large pile of ironing is calling me. I can't put it off, I do like to get chores out of the way before I enjoy myself!
Have a good day everyone! Bye for now....
