So where did the last month go?

Again, apologies for my tardiness in keeping this up to date. It's been quite a busy month ..... Been out and about a lot but won't bore you with a day by day account of everything!

I guess the highlights have been my birthday, a wine tasting and Halloween, all within 4 days. My birthday 'celebrations' began a couple of days early and seemed to go on all week, I was out so much. On the day itself I had lunch with my girlfriends (lovely cards and pressies!), followed by dinner with John, June and Nick at El Caserio (more lovely cards and pressies).

The wine tasting was courtesy of John and June, we (9 of us) visited a very small wine producer, sampled (and bought) some of his lovely wines, accompanied by some delicious 'nibbles' provided by his wife. We then returned to J and J's for a lovely lunch which started quite late because we'd been eating and drinking already. Maybe I had a little too much - instead of going on to someone else's house I came home with a headache and slept for 3 hours!

Halloween at Monroe's 2 was fancy dress. The staff looked amazing in their costumes, and all the food was Halloween themed. Almost all the customers had dressed up too, including me - the first time I've ever done fancy dress (at least as far as I can recall). I got the cheapest outfit I could find (via good old e-bay!) - Dark Angel. The wings were almost literally a pain in the neck and I took them off as soon as I could. The dress was a bit short, and shed bits of maribou trim all over the place. I did like the fishnets though, they have tiny bows running up the seams at the back, and I loved the wig! Thank goodness I'm a lot slimmer than I used to be. This is a pic of me with John (Dracula), not very good as my camera let me down (yet again!).

I've finally got the walls and ceilings painted that were affected by damp from last year's gota fria. Nick did it for me. It looks so much better. Not that it's done me much good - still no viewers. The house is now up for sale with two agents and I'm planning on getting at least two more in as well.

I ought to say something about Nick. He's John and June's closest friend, on his own after the traumatic end to a relationship. He's great to be with, very funny, makes me laugh, and we're enjoying each other's company a lot. For the moment that's OK with both of us. Until last night we've only met as a foursome with J and J or at the bars when John is singing. Last night we went out on our own and had a lovely evening together.
The weather has been so good recently, it's a disappointment to wake up to rain today. It's not supposed to last so hopefully I can get out into town later. If not, manana will do!
Have a good day!
